Taiwan does not own Kinmen, Matsu or Penghu.
Taiwan , Matsu, Kinmen and Penghu are all provinces of the ROC(Republic of China) The Republic of China is NOT apart of the PRC (People’s Republic of China. )
The People’s Republic of China does NOT have a 5,000 year old history, It was founded in 1949 and NEVER had any jurisdiction over the ROC.
The Chinese People have a 5,000 year old history.
There is no China today. There is the PRC and there is the ROC

China has money that it spends on buying other countries support rather than helping its own people.
    Legally they have nothing.
But they own a lot of corrupt politicians across the world, (which counts for a lot when people are not paying attention to their representatives actual support).
It comes down to the country that wastes more money on buying the support of the scum that rose to the top.

The governments should get along. This dispute is sad to oursiders. China, leave Taiwan alone. Both of you grow up and be nice to each other. Too bad it cannot be a decision made with the people’s best interest in mind.

Because China says so…no that is the real reason. They claim they do and they consider that the only reason they need.
Of course it is absurd on it’s face, you can’t just claim you own someone that doesn’t want to be owned. However history is full of cases just like this one, most don’t end well for one of the parties.

How do the Taiwanese “own” China?
How does Taiwan think they own Jinmen and Mazu, which are parts of China, yet are occupied by Taiwan.
Does Taiwan have any legal grounds for this “claim”?
For 40 years the R.O.C. claimed to be the government of all of China and its 1 billion Chinese people. Since Taiwan has no document that establishes its independence in accordance with international law, why should it not return to China?
